HIGHLY RECOMMENDGrew up reading Pojo magazines as a kid. They included all the best highlights. Great summary of Pokemon through the yearsIncludes summaries of the tv show, movies, games, game strategies, cards, deck lists, stuffed toys and collectibles, and moreProbably one of my new favorite Pokemon collector guides. Could entertain me for hours, and I would continuously go back to it for reference for fun

I found this at a local B&N Bookstore, and didn't see any reviews. So figured I'd share some information about this book with you, to see if it's what you are looking for. The book tries to give an overview of 20 years of Pokemon in 128 pages.The first 30 pages of the book cover the anime. There are some character Bios, then summaries/reviews of the first 19 seasons of the TV Show, and then reviews of all the movies. This is done pretty well, and a good recap considering I have no clue what happened after the first few seasons of Pokemon.The next 30 pages or so deal with Pokemon Video Games. The reviewers actually review every single Pokemon video game that has been released in the U.S., including the Smash Bros.games. Many of these games I've never even heard of.There is then a section on building competitive teams for the handheld RPG's, with a Top 10 List of the Best Pokemon to use.The next 50 pages deal with the Pokemon Trading Card Game. Jason Klaczynski (A 3 time World Champ) lists and reviews the Top 10 Pokemon Decks of all time. Then they have a look at all the Pokemon Booster Sets, and review them all, with photos of all the booster packs.The rest of the book is filled with a hodge-podge of articles about Toy Collecting, Grading Pokemon Cards, The TCG Online, and Puzzles.All in all, it's a really good stroll down memory lane. The reviews are well done, and there are a lot of great photos of Pokemon games, toys and booster packs you probably forgot all about. For the price of a little over $10 here on Amazon, it's a pretty good bargain, and I'd recommend it. There's a lot of reading and history here, so it might not be suitable for the littlest of kids, but it's great for teens and adults.
When I was smaller, my mom would buy the monthly Pojo magazines from my local grocery store. Because the internet wasn't too common in rural areas, this was my go-to source for Pokemon news and price guides. It's awesome to see Pojo come back to do this for the Pokemon community and for new players to experience it.For card game players, this book goes through all the sets and lists the best cards. It also shows how to build decks on a budget and the top 10 decks of all time, written by none other than arguably the best player of all time, three-time World Champion Jason Klaczynski. If you prefer the video games, there is also a guide to getting into the competitive scene.All in all, this was a no-brainer for me. The price tag is a bit expensive -- especially compared to the $5.99 they used to be when I was younger -- but you get your money's worth and it's supporting Pojo. They have 3 more magazines on the way this year, I think. Buy one, trainers! :)
