I bought it this morning at 8:30, and with the interruption of church, lunch, 4H, and my sister pestering me, I finished reading it by six pm.SYNOPSIS:I can't tell you much without ruining it! The Naturals team go to Las Vegas to hunt down a serial killer whose MO stays different, but the only thing linking his targets is tattoos. The Naturals are teenagers who work for the FBI and they have an amazing skill set that includes a human lie detector, an emotion reader, 2 profilers and a walking encyclopedia. They are supposed to work only on cold cases, but end up right in the middle of a hot investigation. The end will leave you wanting so much more! I can't wait until the fourth book.Since I read the first two books, it made a lot of sense to me, but if you haven't read them yet, you will still probably get most if not all of the storyline.WHAT I LIKED: the fast paced action, the mind blowing plot twists, and how cleverly everything ties in with the other authors. She tied in parts of this third book with some of the first book and I thought "How did I not see this coming?!"WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE: The book ends on a cliff hanger, and I have to wait yet again! The book was too short, I know that if it's over like 400 pages, it seems like it's gonna drag, but I don't care if it drags, I wanna read more!I found this book at a book fair where I bought the first 2 books. I read most of the first one on the way home, and it was so amazing! I was jumping on Amazon as soon as I could & found out I had to wait 6 more months for this 3rd book! I feel sorry for the people that had to wait longer.This review written by a 13 year old with help from mom.
Omg! This book continued the series with heartbreaking secrets and revelations about each of the characters. We see as they face difficult times and yet turn to each other instead of away. We hear more about the old cases and every lose end that you could have been wondering about. We meet some new characters and watch as Sloane, Michael, Lia, Dean, Judd, Briggs, and Sterling go through their own personal he** and still manage to save someone. We see some more of each if their weaknesses and see Michael and Sloane break in their own ways. We see a more mature side to Lia and the real Sadie. We see Dean try to protect them and Judd also even while they face their own difficulties. I cannot wait for the next one. I have been hooked on this series from the very beginning and this hasn't stopped yet. The writing keeps me on the edge of my seat, making predictions, and wondering. I can feel what the characters feel and I love your writing style. I would read this series a million times if I could have the same mystery again, I wish time travel was real so I could read it for the first time over and over again.
I enjoyed this series and overall this was a decent book. There are some concepts in the series that certainly require you to willingly suspend your disbelief but for the most part, I was easily able to do that with most of this series. In this final book, however, I felt the author stretch the boundaries of how far I could suspend my disbelief and things got a bit muddy with the all the numbers involved in the serial killer story. I almost never get lost with story details but halfway through this book I was confused about who's supposed to kill whom during which year and with which weapon and it didn't get any clearer for me as the book continued.I'm glad they wrapped up the story of Cassie's mother but again, the direction the story went to accomplish this ended up being pretty far-fetched even compared to the rest of the series. But I did enjoy the books and do not regret reading them.
This third adventure of the Naturals sees them in Las Vegas trying to track down a serial killer. This venue is particularly stressful for Sloane because she is from Las Vegas. Her father, who hasn't acknowledged her, owns the casino where one of the murders took place. Cassie is also under particular stress in this one because a body has been found and it likely is the mother who disappeared leaving a blood drenched room when Cassie was twelve.I really like a the characters in this series. They are all damaged in some way by their pasts but the damage has made their gifts stronger. They are also all loners and very mature for their ages. It must be like herding cats for their guardian Judd.This episode is filled with tension and is emotionally hard on the kids too. They need to find out who the killer is fast since one of them might be intended to be the next victim. A secret is discovered and a link to Cassie's mom has been discovered.I can't wait for the next book in this series.
I love Barnes's books simply for the fun, unique take on things that only she seems to be able to offer. Add in plots that are both well designed, executed, and original and you are always in for a treat.The Naturals series had me hooked from the very first book and seems to be getting better as it goes. A fun series about young teenage profilers that it is hard to resist.I love this rag tag group of people that not only over time have learned to be friends but a family too.Each with unique abilities, traits, personalities, and things to offer, this series really had become a favorite of mine. It is hard to resist all the characters and how they interact with one another and how dang smart and attention detailed they really are.Add in the new twists to the plot that were reveled all set in the fast paced life of Las Vegas Nevada and I 'm salivating to get my hands on the next book. I won't go into any more detail but I will say that if you are looking for something fun, mysterious and a lot like Criminal Minds for teens, this in the series for you.
