Seriously....it doesn't get much better than this book. My daughters are 3 and 4 years old and I am currently in nursing school. This is an incredible look into how our bodies work without being so dumbed down that it's silly or so complex that you have trouble following. I don't always read it word-for-word when we sit down to look it over, but the illustrations are magnificent and really hit the ideas home. My older daughter definitely understands certain concepts well beyond her age, like the fact that there are good germs and bad. She realizes that sometimes our bodies react or over-react to things it thinks are bad and some people have allergies! She is definitely my little study buddy! I love that I can foster her interest in science and biology with things like this. I would have loved to have had this as a kid!!!One of my favorite little gems is that the skeleton that brings us on the journey is shown to be female at the end! My daughter got a real kick out of that and it really opened doors to talking about how we're all the same on the inside!

My 4 year old daughter loves this book. At this age, she doesn't understand everything yet, but she still loves to have it read to her and loves the pictures. Sometimes we go through a chapter a night. I was surprised how big and detailed this book is. For some reason I thought it would be a thin book that just covered the high level basics. This book is actually about an inch thick and goes into a lot of detail (while still explaining things in easy to understand language). Even I'm learning new things as I read it to my daughter. I love that this is helping my daughter develop an interest in how the human body works. I've recommended this book to several friends. One friend said her 2nd grader loves it and will sit there and read it on his own.

This is the best book about human body ever. My girl has read a couple of books about the human body including her favorite Magic School Bus. She loved all scientific topics except for the human body. And she believed it is yucky, until I found her this book. I borrowed this book from the library and my 6-year-old starts to read on her own. She was obsessed with it, and she kept giggling while reading. She read it again and again, kept calling me to find out how funny it is. Her daddy asked her why we feel when we touch something, and she answered it was the brain. How the brain gets the information? She said it were the nerves. I was more than amazed. The hardest thing in education is to teach complicated information through the easiest way. This book does the job! We renewed this book, tried different libraries for her to get this book and finally we decided to buy it because she is never bored with this one.

I first heard about this at a nonfiction booktalk. A few weeks later, our library got it and we chevked it out. My newly 9 and 7 year olds didn't read anything else for a week. After three weeks, they begged me to renew it. They mourned when after six weeks the library insisted we let another family borrow it. After I purchased it, I was certain they'd lose interest quickly. Nope. Still their go to nonfiction book all these months later.

I purchased this book with my inquisitive 3 year old son in mind. We received it last night and sat down to read it together. Our typically-antsy, high energy, curious toddler sat still for the entire first chapter on the skeletal structure. He’s always showed significant interest in understanding how his body worked and this book is an informative, entertaining non-fictional work which combines science, humor, and art. Human Body Theatre may appeal to my 3 year old but it’s also interesting to me. I think the target audience would be 5-15 year olds but it holds my attention as well, or better, than my child’s. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in the human body, cheap laughs, and great pictures. This makes a great aid to any biology student or child looking to learn. A great purchase that’ll go far in our science-minded household!

This is amazingly well done. I got this for my twelve yr old daughter. She adores it, read it in one day and has been rereading it. It's all about the human body and some anatomy and has a story that leads all the way to the end, I won't spoil it for you ;) It's incredibly well made, illustrations cute and SCIENCE!!

My kids took turns reading this book for a month straight. I have a second, a third and a fourth grader, and they all appreciated different aspects of the book. It was written in a way that makes non-fiction interesting to little ones, with interesting facts and fun graphics. I highly recommend this book!!

We've had this for a couple of years, maybe three, and the kids (aged 4, 6, and 8) still won't stop reading it. They love the narrator skeleton, and have absorbed pretty much all the information in this book. My youngest kids started on it before they could read, and kept going once they could. I think it was one of the texts that helped them learn to read because it was so highly motivating.
